Brief History Of LafumaŽ
Lafuma founded by three brothers in year 1930 in France. Begin as haversack manufacturer for peasants from the mountain, holiday campers as well as military use during World War II. In early 50's Lafuma enter into the camping market with its furniture line. Until 1970's the group has grown and become an international business and starting from 1980's a new generation of management has embarked on growing the business to include a complete range of hiking products.
Listed in France stock exchange in 1990's and has takeover its competitor, Millet in 1995 and also Le Chameau to strengthen it market position. Subsequently, Lallemand, Big Pack, Ober and Oxbow have been taken over by Lafuma to expand its offering and revenue base. Currently Lafuma has been distributed to more than 40 countries around the world spanning from Europe, Middle East, Americas, Asia and Oceania continent.
